As a result of the ever- increasing violence being committed upon the American citizen, and the current state of our country. I encourage each citizen of Creek County who is legally able to fully utilize their Second Amendment right "to keep and bear arms," as legally prescribed by the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act.
Upon researching the statute regarding the fingerprinting fee associated with carry licensing, as well as obtaining a legal opinion from our legal counsel, it has been determined that I, as
Sheriff, do not have the authority to waive the entire fee mandated by the Act; however I can reduce the cost.
Therefore effective January 1st 2016 the Creek County Sheriff's Office will reduce the cost of
fingerprinting for applicants applying for their concealed carry license. Beginning January 1st,
2016 a $10.00 fingerprinting fee will be required of applicants applying for their Oklahoma concealed carry handgun license. Applicants will still be responsible for supplying two (2) passport size and style photographs, and all fees to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Further, the Creek County Sheriff's Office administrative building located at 301 East Lee in
Sapulpa will open one Saturday a month from the hours of 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. to facilitate those citizens who are unable to obtain their fingerprints during normal business hours.
