Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

11/22/2023

On November 21, 2023, Creek County Deputies initiated a traffic stop West of Sapulpa. The Deputy witnessed the driver going across two lanes of traffic, cutting off other drivers, and generally driving in an unsafe manner. The vehicle also had expired tags. After stopping, the driver provided identification, but the passenger stated they had no ID. The passenger provided a false name and date of birth. Upon further investigation, the Deputies discovered the passenger's real name, Katelyn Robertson, 32, of Chickasha. Ms. Robertson had multiple active warrants. When Deputies asked her to turn around so she could be handcuffed, Ms. Robertson took off running. She was apprehended and arrested without further incident.  After searching the vehicle, she was found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe with a crystal residue inside it. Ms. Robertson was booked into the Creek County Jail with charges for escaping from arrest or detention, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and false personation. Her warrant from Pittsburg County was for driving with a suspended license, failure to carry insurance and unsafely changing lanes. Her Cleveland County warrants were for driving under the influence of drugs, and unlawful possession of paraphernalia, and a second warrant for bail jumping.

This is an arrest, not a conviction.
