National Correctional Officers Week May 5-11, 2024

This week we celebrate National Correctional Officers Week from May 5 to 11. Former President Ronald Reagan established this week on May 5, 1984. He saw the need to create a week for correctional officers to thank them for their services and celebrate their contributions to society.  These individuals dedicate their lives to a challenging and often underappreciated profession. Their sterling commitment to public service is a cornerstone of our justice system, and they more than deserve our recognition and gratitude. During this week, Sheriff Bowling and the Creek County Sheriff's Office honor the correctional officers in our jails, prisons, and community correctional facilities.
